Nanchang is the capital city of Jiangxi Province, administering three counties (Nanchang, Jinxian, and Anyi), six districts (Donghu, Xihu, Qingyunpu, Wanli, Qingshanhu, and Xinjian), three state-level development zones (Nanchang National Economic and Technological Development Zone, Nanchang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and Nanchang Xiaolan Economic and Technological Development Zone), Nanchang Airport Economic Zone, and Honggutan New District, with a total area of 7,402 square kilometers and a resident population of 5.460,000. It has been listed as National Famous Historical and Cultural City, National Sanitary City, National Water Ecological Civilization City, National Forest City, National Garden City, and National Double Support Model City.
Industries of Nanchang
In recent years, Nanchang has been pooling efforts to stabilize economic growth, promote reforms, advance economic restructuring, and improve people’s livelihood, creating a favorable momentum for its economic and social development. It currently boasts six industries with an annual output of over 50 billion yuan, three of which have exceeded 100 billion yuan. Its three state-level development zones have all exceeded 100 billion yuan in main business revenue. Among them, Nanchang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone is the first state-level development zone exceeding 200 billion yuan in Jiangxi Province. Its four strategic emerging pillar industries (automobile and NEV, electronic information, biomedicine, and aviation equipment) are thriving, while its four traditionally advantageous industries (food, textile and clothing, materials and manufacturing, and electromechanical manufacturing) are further expanding.
